Dear colleagues,
the first international congress of the Serbian Association of Emergency Surgery, held at the CROWNE PLAZA hotel in Belgrade, on November 22 and 23, 2024, has just ended.
ABSRACT BOOK 1st CONGRESS SSES 2024
During two intensive days, the best Serbian experts in the field of abdominal surgery, vascular, urology, spinal, microsurgery, neurosurgery, maxillofacial, anesthesiology,
radiology, gastroenterology, epidemiology, medical statistics. Residents, nurses and medical students participated.
The Congress hosted 153 lecturers, 500 participants from Serbia, Europe and the world, the choir of MFUB students, opera diva Mira Nedeljkovic and Mrs. Bojana Stefanovic, Serbian actress in the role of presenter of the program of the Opening Ceremony.
The congress was supported by the Ministry of Health of the RS and the Faculty of Medicine of the UB.
Our guests and leaders in the field of emergency surgery came from Canada, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Iran, Australia, Albania. The congress was graced by the arrival and lectures of the leaders of the world association WSES and the European association ESTES. The congress was reported in the media in Serbia as an event of social and professional importance.

SSES 2024 CONGRESS AWARDS
At the closing of the congress, awards for oral and poster presentations in the category of young doctors were announced. The decision was made by the moderators of the sessions.

- Dr Zoran Aničić (University Clinic Center Banja Luka, Bosnia and Hercegovina) – registration fee for international congress in Romania 2025, award supported by prof. Valeriu Surlin congress president in Romania.
