Despite progress in pharmacological antimicrobial therapy, excellent cooperation with microbiologists and infectious disease specialists, as well as increasingly effective surgical source control, we are faced with a significant impact of surgical infection on the outcome of our patients. We believe that cooperation with Global Alliance for Infections in Surgery will improve our knowledge and enable the exchange of ideas.
